Emotionally Focused Therapy Supervision and Training

Ms. Voss provides Individual and Group supervision for therapists who are interested in learning or enhancing their learning and practice of EFT. And therapists working towards EFT Therapist Certification.

Janet’s Philosophy of Supervision

My philosophy of supervision reflects and integrates the EFT (ACES and Hearts) Model of Supervision. My approach is most heavily influenced by the individual supervision I received from Dr. Rebecca Jorgensen and Yve Gould,  who modeled, mentored, coached my development as a supervisor with their genuine presence and helpful feedback.

I believe a genuine, supportive and collaborative alliance is an essential foundation for EFT learning to flourish and your confidence to grow.  Being seen and understood expands your ability to process information, accept helpful feedback and take risks.   An alliance where you feel safe to ask questions and acknowledge when you are confused or uncertain is essential to your progress.

Expand Your Knowledge of the EFT Model

Expand your knowledge of the EFT Model with first understanding where you are in learning EFT; and the learning style most comfortable for you.  When there is a vast amount of information to process, supervisors help identify where you are “on the edge of your next learning”.  When you sort what is “essential” from “what is not important” you are able to sharpen your focus on a few main areas, and applying EFT in practice is simplified.

** Reviewing tapes, mini role plays and practicing the TANGO help increase your comfort working experientially with emotion.   As your skill and “felt sense” of emotion increases, you will more easily understand the negative cycle (and correlating attachment strategies) and be more able to move couples towards deeper emotional experiencing, shaping encounters and change events.

** Supports your growth in understanding of your self as a therapist.  One of the most important assets a therapist has is an awareness of his/her own thoughts, feelings and bodily reactions.

Practicing EFT evokes a wide range of experiences, emotions and reactions that are meaningful and valuable for personal and professional growth.  Effective supervision enhances understanding of difficult moments and adds clarity to moving through blocks with self-compassion as well as celebrating successes.

“Janet has a gentle and effective approach as an EFT Supervisor.  She authentically engages in the EFT journey with supervisees, leading with empathy and compassion.”

— Rebecca Jorgensen, PhD, Certified EFT Trainer:

 Individual Supervision

Janet provides EFT clinical supervision to therapists learning the EFT model.  Supervision is offered via face-to-face, or Zoom using tape review, role plays, and practicing the TANGO.

Janet suggests therapists video tape sessions, become active in ICEEEFT, attend live and online EFT training events. She also encourages therapists to become a Certified by ICEEFT as an EFT therapist.

 Group Supervision

Janet holds Group supervision for therapists who have had training in EFT and want to expand their skills in a supportive environment.  Groups are limited in size to provide maximum participation opportunities.

Please fill out the attached contact form below if you are interested in receiving an announcement about groups in the near future.
